KCSE Results - Mukaa Boys Top School in Makueni County

Mukaa Boys High School in Makueni County has emerged a new academic giant following its stunning performance in last year’s KCSE exams.

The extra-county school pulled a surprise performance after posting a total of 28 As, the highest so far among the region’s academic centres of excellence.

The school produced a single A plain (81 points) and 27 A minuses.

Out of the 205 candidates who sat the examination, 200 scored a mean grade of above C+, which is currently the minimum university entry requirement.

The school’s principal, Francis Mutua, said the institution also improved on its overall performance index of 9.08 in 2014 to 9.11 in 2015.

“I want to thank the entire staff of Mukaa Boys for their efforts, which have handed us the success that we are in today. I also appreciate the role of parents and the school’s board of management for giving us the necessary support to teach our boys,” an elated Mutua said.

But Machakos School, which was elevated to national status two years ago produced four As of 82 points, thereby dominating the top slots for the highest scores in the region.

The candidates: Kimanzi Mutua, Augustine Mutie, Wandera Felix and Muthama Samuel, each scored A plain.

Wandera said he hoped to secure admission at the University of Nairobi to pursue his dream career in Pharmacy. “It’s all through hard work, trust in God and discipline that I have achieved this grade,” he said.

The school’s principal, Masaku Muia, said the institution posted an improvement in its performance index after clicking 9.56 this year, up from 9.48 registered in the previous year.

Machakos Girls High School produced the best overall candidate among public schools. Valentine Kaleli attained an A plain grade of 83 points, followed by Ann Bosibori who attained an A plain of 82 points.
