Introduction

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a humanitarian, non-governmental and non-profit organization, founded in 1956, that works in more than 35 countries around the world. DRC has been operating in Kenya since 2005, where we assist refugees and displacement-affected communities in Dadaab, Kakuma, Kalobeyei, Nairobi and Mombasa through protection and livelihoods activities to enhance their self-reliance and expand opportunities for a dignified life.

Responsibilities

  • Regular and timely updating of deliverables for all Kenya Programme projects in the Grant Management System.
  • Ensure the grants management filing system is maintained and all donor grant documentation (both soft and hard copies) is properly filed.
  • Coordinate, compile, review and edit all project reporting (both internal and external), ensuring high quality and timely report submission in line with donor compliance requirements, managing monthly and quarterly Rolling Action Plans (RAPs), including with partners and sub-grantees where relevant.
  • Assist the Head of Programmes in proposal development and fundraising; coordinate and compile inputs from programme staff, field staff, technical advisors, or the regional office in line with the proposal development plan.
  • Organize and lead grant management meetings according to DRC grants management guidelines (kick-off, project closure meetings, review meetings, Project Steering Committee meetings etc.)
  • Assist the Head of Programme in bi-monthly budget analysis, in coordination with Finance, and highlight potential issues.
  • Support and liaise with the M&E department in conducting monitoring and verification of project activities to highlight potential compliance issues for management action.
  • Ensure that relevant grants management and donor regulations and requirements are adequately shared and understood by the programme and support teams, through trainings and mentorship for staff, including for partners and sub-grantees (e.g. in consortia)
  • Support proper management of sub-grantees where relevant

    Qualifications

  • Have a university degree in international relations, social science, development or a relevant field.
  • At least three years of professional experience in reporting, grants management, and/ or monitoring and evaluation in humanitarian or development programming.
  • Knowledge of project cycle management.
  • Knowledge of donor rules, regulations, and procedures including but not limited to US and European donors, EU funding mechanisms, and UN agencies.
  • Knowledge of database use and management.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills in English for external audiences (including governments and donors).
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good personal organizational skills, including time management, team work, ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure with minimal supervision

    Responsibilities

  • Maintain and strengthen existing networks through other service providers at the camp level, to ensure that survivors receive quality services and support both at the agency levels.
  • Actively participate in scheduled meetings such as the Case Conferences and SGBV inter-agency meetings.
  • Identify new networks to work with to ensure wholesome support to the clients.
  • Work in close collaboration with the GBV officer and GBV assistants to ensure ongoing needs of at-risk groups, women and girls are being met in the prevention related activities.
  • Strengthen existing referral systems and networks of psychosocial service providers
  • Assist in development of referral networks between partners implementing GBV and implementation of referral pathways.
  • Participate in conducting trainings for partners on relevant organizational development areas and support peer learning between DRC and other partner agencies.

    Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years work experience in providing psychosocial counseling in a refugee context
  • A Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Psychology, social work or other social science related field).
  • Able to complete
    required reporting and documentation within the set deadlines.
  • Highly motivated, creative, and compassionate person who is dedicated to ensuring that models of best practice are utilized.
  • Able to uphold high ethical and professional standards.
  • Able to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality.
  • Problem solving and conflict resolution skills.

    Danish Refugee Council NGO Kenya System Analyst Jobs

    Responsibilities

  • Review and approve pushing of apps on the various mobile platforms
    Domain registration, hosting and renewals
  • Support in mobile apps deployment in the various online stores
  • Provide SQL administration in live and test environments.
  • Write technical procedures and documentation for the applications including operations, user guide, etc.
  • Verify database and data integrity.
  • Participate on IT project steering committees and be involved in the design phase of any new IT software development projects.
  • Analyze data contained in the corporate database and identify data integrity issues with existing and proposed systems and implement solutions.

    Qualifications

  • Should have a minimum of 7 years of information technology experience with at least 5 of these being hands-on technical roles in the field
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Extensive knowledge of data processing, hardware platforms, and enterprise software applications.
  • Good background in Data Base design in major RDBMS
  • Background in Microsoft .NET, Visual Basic, Excel, Word, Outlook and HTML.
  • Good working knowledge skills with Microsoft Office Products, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Project.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of standards, procedures and guidelines to support operational processes.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities;
  • Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment, in a high-pressure on-call environment with changing priorities.
  • Willingness to work occasionally outside of normal business hours.
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills.
  • Post-secondary degree in computer science or related field or a combination of related experience and education.
  • A results oriented individual who thrives working in a fast-paced environment.

    Responsibilities

  • Strengthen existing referral systems and networks of psychosocial service providers
  • In collaboration with other partners, design prevention activities/interventions within the refugee and host community.
  • Participate in conducting trainings for partners on relevant organizational development areas and support peer learning between DRC and other partner agencies.

    Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Social Science, Social Work Psychology, Gender and Development.
  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience within the field of protection, sexual and gender based violence programming, social work;
  • Experience working communities within the refugee camp set up.
  • Experience in implementing behavior change communication and community mobilization strategies such as SASA!, EMAP, Community Based Protection and others
