The CHAI-SA HIV Prevention programme supports NDoH to ensure that performance of the strategic development and implementation of combination HIV prevention efforts are conducted and monitored efficiently and effectively, including a national campaign that specifically aims to support adolescent girls and young women (AGYW). This is done through the provision of technical assistance in the implementation of the national combination HIV prevention policy, guidelines, and operational plan, development of strategic documents and tools, including training and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) to support critical management systems and to galvanize key stakeholders coordination.
CHAI is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented individual with strong quantitative and analytical skills to support with the implementation of NDoH HIV prevention programme scale up.
Candidates must have excellent communication and writing skills, be able to function independently, be extremely self-motivated and have a strong commitment to excellence. The Analyst will provide support both strategically and analytically.

  • The Analyst will be based in Pretoria, South Africa with possible national travel, and will report to the Programme Manager of the HIV

    Prevention Team. He/she is expected to be involved
    in one or more of the following:

  • Monitor combination prevention programme performance and outcomes, starting with PrEP, including monthly data collection, analysis, and reporting/presentation internally, to government and other partners, and donors.
  • Support NDoH in all aspects of combination prevention strategy and planning and implementation, including policy and guideline development and review.
  • Support NDoH in the preparation of workplan(s) and budget(s) for combination HIV prevention programmes, including identification of funding gaps and additional resources.
  • Participate in working group(s) to support evidence generation for implementation of PrEP and other combination prevention interventions among at-risk populations so that NDoH can make evidence-based decisions.
    Support in preparation of strategic documents.
  • Ensure that the annual CHAI work plan and all quarterly and routine reports are delivered on time and with high quality.
    Represent the programme in meetings and workshops.
    Perform other tasks as necessary

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree

  • A minimum of 2-3 years professional experience in a private or public sector setting with increasing levels of responsibility and experience;

  • Strong analytical skills and technical proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint (analytical skills and proficiency levels will be tested during recruiting process);

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, be effective in high-pressure situations and adapt to fast-paced and changing environments with a strong commitment to excellence, both internally and externally, and with limited structural support;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on complex projects and solve challenging problems with limited structural or operational support;
  • Strategically minded, able to think creatively around long-term programme objectives and the detailed steps necessary to achieve these goals;
  • Excellent organisational and problem solving skills;
  • Excellent verbal, visual and written communication skills;
  • English language fluency, both written and
    verbal.:
