Biomedical Science and Technology

by Beatrice Juma
(Nairobi, Kenya)

I have just completed my undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science and Technology at Egerton University in Kenya. I graduated with an upper second class. My question is whether I have any hope of getting a scholarship since I got an average of 62? Is my average too low for a scholarship or assistantship. Would it help if I obtained really good marks in GRE and TOEFEL?

I think your grade is good. Whether you can get a scholarship in Biomedical Science and Technology will depend on several factors. These include: Are there better qualified candidates applying for the same? How good are your essays/ research topic as asked by the scholarship organization? You may beat better qualified candidates if your essays are good or your research topic and presentation better.

Good scores for TOEFL are good but may not increase your chances of getting a scholarship. Many universities in Europe do not bother about GRE/TOEFL.

Joe.
