    Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with other health care professionals (doctor, nurse, social worker, community health care worker, home-based caregiver, psychologist.) in maintaining treatment protocol.
  • Provide direct and comprehensive primary, preventive and therapeutic care to patients. Refers to support groups and these are recorded in support group register also encourages patients to have a supporter on treatment initiation.
  • Teach and counsel patients, family on disease prevention and staying healthy.
  • Assist patients with adherence counseling and document the session in counseling form.
    Provide ongoing psychosocial counseling to clients attending the clinic.

    Qualifications:

  • Education and/or Experience
  • Ceritificate in Basic Nursing
  • Certificate for AIDS Treatment Training
  • Certificate for Counseling Skills Training
  • Language Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients or employees of organization.
  • Fluency in the local language.

  • Sensitivity to patient population and issues surrounding HIV/AIDS.

    AIDS Healthcare Foundation Data Capturer Jobs in South Africa

    Overview:

    Responsibilities:

  • Enter data on a Microsoft Access database using a dedicated computer;
  • Review data on an ongoing basis to identify and resolve errors and inconsistencies;
  • Liase with research assistants and reporting back to project manager, and data manager regarding any problems or queries with hard-copy forms, and data entry issues;
  • Liase with Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Department regarding patient data forms;
  • Perform double data entry for validation on a subset of data entries;
  • Assist the Data Manager with data checking; and production of data reports;
  • Use the database to generate reports to flag patients who require follow-up by the research team;
  • Handle data with care, and respect patient confidentiality.

    Qualifications:

    Education and/or Experience:

  • One year certificate from college or technical college, or
  • 1 year experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Matric or higher education level;
    IT and database skills, particularly with Microsoft Access;
  • Proven data capturing experience, preferably within a medical setting;
  • Professionalism and good work ethic, attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Time-management and organizational skills;
  • Flexibility to assist with other projects as reasonably determined by the Project Manager and/or co-investigators.

    Language Skills:

  • Speak English fluently;
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals;
  • Ability to write routine reports, and correspondence;
  • Ability to speak confidently before groups of customers or employees of organization.

  • Works with the data captures to coordinate the capture of clients records into the database;
    Assumes responsibility for filling, storing and securing clients records both in manual and electronic;
  • Enter details of the client records and information correctly into the database;
  • Returns all the client records back to the filer when data entry has been completed;
  • Ensures the number of charts entered into the database responds with the number of clients seen as per daily register
  • Coordinates activities of Data Capturers
  • Responsible for Data Collation, Verification and generation of report

    Education and Experience

    Overview:

    Responsibilities:

  • Transport the VCT team to all outreach testing, education and condom distribution activities.
  • Ensure on time transportation of laboratory specimens from the Ithembalabantu clinic and other clinics to the main laboratory in the PMMH hospital as well as other private laboratories.
  • Ensure on time delivery of drugs from PMSC to the main clinic as assigned, as well as from the main clinic to the down referral clinics.
  • Maintains safety standards during transportation of drugs and laboratory specimens.
  • Transport laboratory results from the main laboratory to the relevant clinics, on time.
  • Assist with driving guests from the airport and / or from any other point of departure and provide a welcome talk during the trip. Also, returns departing guests to the airport as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    Education and/or Experience:

  • Certification in VCT and HIV/AIDS counseling
  • Exposure in HIV counseling field
    PDP is an added advantage

    Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one- on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
