Our Client, Kenya's newest printing business is the first of its kind having been formed through a merger of several well-established leading printing companies. Once launched, the Company will offer clients - both existing and new - a full-range of off-set, digital, large format printing as well as branded promotional items. They are seeking to recruit a Designer.

The Designer will be reporting to the Chief Planning and Operations Officer. You will be responsible for creating visual concepts, graphics and layouts for print production as per client specifications. You will additionally ensure print and digital designs are done on time and meet high quality standards.

Responsibilities

Take and manage accurate information from the customer, formulating full production briefs, producing detailed print specifications and ensure they are validated by the client before production

Bring a brief and concept to life based on the client’s needs and vision, budget, time and production constraints

Prepare mock-ups and present to clients, edit designs in response to client feedback and secure approval and sign off

Execute assigned work orders, verifying documents meet all specifications, and build files based on specifications and adhere to client‘s brand strategy.

Check and make sure builds, colour management, image resolution, fonts, graphics, styles and layout to ensure correctness prior to delivery

to digital pre-press and production

Retouch images to improve quality both in print and digital formats

Adhere to a client’s brand identity and guidelines in execution of projects

Provide detailed production reports as per the stipulated timelines and formats.

Requirements

Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Graphic Design

At least four (4) years relevant work experience in design in the printing industry;

Able to juggle multiple projects and perform well with aggressive turnaround times

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proofing, grammar and spelling

Proficient in relevant design programs and a good understanding of pre-press and printing processes

Must have high standards of integrity, ethics and confidentiality

Good planning and organizing skills and detail oriented
