1. Action Africa NGO Training Officer Jobs Kenya


AAH Kenya is in the process of implementing a project in Mara Division called the Mara Community Livelihood Improvement Project (MCLIP) which is a three-year project running from January 2017 to December 2019.

This project aims to improve the standard of living of the targeted population in Narok West sub County by supporting livelihoods enhancement through income generation, access to business services and empowerment of excluded community groups such as women and youth.

This in turn will lead to increased social capital, social cohesion, and greater community engagement, alongside increased access to and use of services and improved livelihoods. AAH Kenya is looking for a Training Officer to join MCLIP.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, Social science or any other relevant course.
  • Minimum of Three years in business training experience preferably in an NGO set up.
  • Strong facilitation skills including an ability to confidently and strongly engage community groups with limited formal education.
  • High work ethic and ability to work without close supervision
  • Computer literacy, fluency in English, Kiswahili.
  • Fluency in local Masai language will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge and experience in implementing different education methodologies with a bias for adult education is desired.
  • Able and willing to work in remote areas with poor communication and road network
  • Experience working with community women groups is an added advantage.
  • Commitment to and understanding of AAH-I’s vision, mission and values.

    2. AAH-I Accounts Assistant Job in Nairobi, Kenya

    About Action Africa Help International:
    Action Africa Help International (AAH-I) is an African-led, regional organisation, working in Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Uganda, and Zambia with Board approval to expand to Ethiopia, Rwanda, Tanzania and Burundi.

    It brings over 25 years’ experience working with communities in conflict and post-conflict situations, including refugees, internally displaced people, host communities and communities in urban slums.

    The Accounts Assistant will perform specified tasks to deliver an efficient cost effective and quality service in support of the finance function. Documents financial transactions by entering accounting information and reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information.

    Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA or ACCA PART 2
  • At least 1 year experience in a similar position

    Skills and Competencies

  • Knowledge of basic MS Office (email, spread-sheets, word, databases, job-related software, etc.) is required.

    Language and Communication skills

  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
  • Capacity to communicate clearly, present complex matters in a logical and concise manner.

    Personal qualities / skills

  • Ability to respect deadlines, to multitask and to deal with heavy workloads.
  • Strong sense of initiative, responsibility and accountability.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to respond quickly to new demands arising from the needs of the Delegation.
  • Commitment to assure quality, speed and accuracy in performing duties;
  • Ability to work both independently as well as in a team
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment.

    Intellectual skills

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Capacity to focus on priorities and to organize own workload (in order to respect deadlines).

    3. AAH-I Somalia / Somaliland Human Resource Assistant Job in Nairobi

    The Human Resource Assistant will support in day to day administrative HR tasks for AAH-I Somalia / Somaliland.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Human Resource management or a Social Sciences/Business Studies with a diploma in human resources management is required.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in a similar role is required.
  • Knowledge of Somaliland/Somalia labor relations is preferred.
  • Good working knowledge of administrative activities within the HR function.
  • Experience of working with people at all levels and providing advice/guidance on general HR issues.
  • Experience of operating computerised database and management information systems.
  • Excellent administrative and organisation skills, with the ability work in a fast paced environment.

  • Demonstrable interest in HR.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, be proactive and offer a solution-oriented approach.
  • Determined and committed to high quality standards.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships at all levels internally and externally.

  • Previous experience of using a HRIS system, including the inputting and extraction of data
