Financial support for improved Access to water and sanitation Position: Resource Mobilization Officer (RMO) REF: - WSTF/3/1/RMO/2012 Location : Nairobi with frequent travel to the field Purpose of the position : The Resource Mobilization Officer will mobilize adequate resources nationally and internationally to enhance access to water and sanitation in areas of Kenya without adequate services. He/ She will be reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and will be responsible for the following:- Specific Duties and Responsibilities Assist the Chief Executive Officer in marketing and fundraising through development of relevant proposalsDevelop and implement strategies for sourcing funds from bilateral, multilateral, private companies and individualsNegotiate and manage funding agreements with financiersRegularly reporting and documenting WSTF activities to the resources mobilization committeeConduct basic research on stakeholders’ opinions and practicesConstantly identifying potential new partnersWork closely with the Public Relations Department to represent and implement the organization’s communication strategies to donorsCoordinate Private Public Partnership resources mobilization activitiesNegotiating and managing the funding of financial agreements and MoU’s with financiersEnsure the competitive and fair utilization of funds to the satisfaction of partnersParticipate in budget preparation and monitoring finances together with Finance Manager, Audit Committee, and accountantsCreate innovative fund raising mechanismsQualifications and Key Competencies Must have a Bachelors degree in development studiesMasters degree in relevant field will be an added advantageAt least five (5) years relevant experience in fund raisingExperience in interacting with different donors is an added advantageKnowledge in designing and structuring of public private partnershipsHave excellent fund raising and negotiation skillsKnowledge of water sector reforms is an added advantageHave a good working knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, Word and internet servicesMust be able to project a positive and professional image of the FundMust be articulate and analyticalPosses excellent communication skills (Verbal and Written)Knowledge of ISO 9001 : 2008 is an added advantageHow to Apply Interested and suitably qualified candidates should submit their applications with the job title and Ref No: clearly marked on the envelope and enclose copies of their academic, professional certificate and testimonials, giving details of telephone contacts, email address current position and remuneration with three referees; one academic and two professional to: Chief Executive Officer Water Services Trust Fund Upper Hill, Mara Road, CIC Plaza, 1st Floor, P O Box 49699 00100, Nairobi
