Project Coordinator, Veterniaires Sans Frontieres - Nairobi, Kenya

Veterniaires Sans Frontieres (VSF) - Belgium is looking for a Project Coordinator(Nairobi, Kenya) (M/F).

Veterniaires Sans Frontieres (VSF) - Belgium is an NGO working with disadvantaged communities to increase their standard of living and improve food security through improved animal health and animal production.

Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Last Date: November 28, 2007

Requirements:

1. Education

A graduate degree in livestock development, epidemiology or a related field. A post graduate degree is an advantage

2. Knowledge

  • Proven experience in the provision of quality training courses

  • A minimum of 10 years experience of senior level programme management and capacity building

  • Experience in Sub-Saharan Africa

  • Experience in implementing Participatory Disease Surveillance programmes will be an advantage

  • Experience in HPAI and other poultry diseases will be an advantage

  • Fluent in written and spoken English

  • French is an advantage

    3. Skills

  • Excellent managerial skills (planning, organizing, leading, controlling)

  • Excellent coordination skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • Good reporting skills,

  • Ability to prepare and present issues at all levels

  • Good networking skills

  • Good negotiation skills

  • Computer literacy

    4. Attitudes

  • Identify him/herself with the mission, vision and values of VSF-B

  • Display intercultural sensitivity

  • Willingness to travel (50% of the time)
