University of Newcastle International Postgraduate Research Scholarships, Australia

University of Newcastle International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (UNIPRS) are funded by the Research Division.

The scholarship provides an exemption for tuition fees, a Faculty-funded living allowance ($19,231 p.a. tax exempt in 2006) and the payment of Overseas Students Health Cover.

Duration: three years for a PhD degree and two years for a Master’s degree.

Application is open to students from all countries with the exception of Australian and New Zealand citizens or Australian permanent residents.

Applicants must provide evidence of English proficiency: the TOEFL computer based test requires a score of at least 232 (with an Essay Rating of at least 4.5) or a paper based test score of at least 575 (with an Essay Rating of at least 4.5); or an IELTS score of at least 6.5 with no individual subtest score less than 6.0.

Applications close on 30 September each year.
