Job Title: Finance Lead(SAP)

Reports To: In-County Finance Manager & In-Country Deployment Lead

Contact terms: 18 months

Responsibilities /Key Objectives:

The individual will be responsible for managing the in-country Finance team’s contribution in the delivery of all aspects of the system (SAP) build, test and deploy phases.

To include:

Design & Build

  • Troubleshoot issues or confirm alternative solutions where the stated design needs modification due to technical constraints within SAP
  • Bring changes and impact on agreed requirements and design to the appropriate decision making forum for resolution (i.e. In-country Deployment Lead, Finance and Supply Chain Managers). Data
  • Review data cleansing activities to ensure that any Finance specific data object issues are resolved
  • Manage the in-country Finance team’s support of data mapping workshops to ensure that legacy data can be mapped to SAP required data objects, such that mock conversions can be executed

    Security / Role Mapping

  • Support the role mapping exercise and ensure that the Finance roles are mapped accurately
  • Confirm any existing or new Target Operating Model roles that map to SAP roles

    Testing

  • Support the preparation of testing documentation (scenarios, scripts, conditions)
  • Support the creation of appropriate data for testing

    Training

  • Review and provide input to the training curriculum for Finance
  • Confirm training requirements for Finance (by role / function)
  • Support the delivery of Finance Training to the wider in-country Finance and Business teams

    Deployment / Operational Readiness

  • Assist with deployment planning and execution
  • Contribute to operational readiness planning as regards the Finance process area

    Experience and Education:

  • Graduate and professionally qualified ACA/ACCA (minimum 5 years post qualified)
  • 3 year experience of working for an oil and gas company/client (desirable)
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of Finance processes
  • First class interpersonal skills and able to demonstrate; drive, tenacity, credibility at all levels of the business
  • Ability and confidence to present to large groups (including senior stakeholders)
  • Good analytical skills and ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables
  • Solid ethical conduct and integrity that demonstrates continuous commercial best practice to the highest standards
  • Ability to manage a team day to day and ensure the accurate and timely completion of deliverables in accordance with the project plan
  • Computer literate and fully conversant with the Microsoft suite of applications
  • Works independently with a minimal level of supervision and manage own time and establishes priorities
  • Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental goals
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment

    Job Title: Local Deployment Manager

    Reports to: Finance Manager, Kenya

    Responsibilities /Key Objectives:

  • Work collaboratively with the appropriate local and central teams and stakeholders on developing and delivering the local Operational Readiness Plan and Sustainability Approach
  • Lead the Local Programme Network Team in their Programme activities including Operational Readiness Assessments, Role Mapping Workshops, Launch Event and Town Halls, UAT, Train the Trainer
  • Own and drive the local Operational Readiness Plan and Deployment Plan
  • Manage local risks/ issues
  • Engage stakeholders in the impact of the change and align project plans with the ability of the business to accept the change successfully
  • Responsible for local coordination and completion of core deliverables including Role Mapping, Data Cleanse, IS Readiness, Training Attendance
  • Work with the central Programme Teams to localise or coordinate the localisation of key deliverables e.g. Comms Plan, Training Context, Local Change Impact Mitigation, Engagement Events, Status Meetings, Post Go Live Strategies
  • Assess, measure, track and monitor the progress of the local change and manage engagement of the business and stakeholders throughout
  • Ensure consistency of project and change delivery methodology and communication channels across the Programme with the wider Pathway and Tullow Group approaches.

    Experience and Education:

  • Tullow employee with good local business knowledge and key stakeholder relationships preferred
  • Project Management and Change Management experience of business change projects preferred, particularly relating to Deployment and Handover Readiness
  • Experience working with third party service providers preferred
  • Exposure to an Oil and Gas operating environment preferred

    Job Title: Social Impact Manager

    Reports To: Social Performance Manager

    Responsibilities /Key Objectives:

    Social Impact Management & Social Investment

  • In close cooperation with the Social Performance Advisor and EHS, contribute to the development of the social aspects / components of the business unit Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS).
  • Manage the delivery of specific social performance mitigations / actions as defined by respective ESIA approvals and assist EHS in coordinating the delivery of all ESIA requirements as required.
  • Develop and deliver specific management plans as they pertain to specific social impacts and contribute to other management plans as necessary.
  • Drive the adoption and implementation of IFC Performance Standards (and other industry standards) as appropriate to ensure management of social impacts pertaining to Tullow’s operations and risks.
  • Cooperate with Asset Protection to ensure Human Rights issues (including conflict) are integrated into management plans as appropriate.
  • Contribute to risk assessment exercises as requested (such as sensitive areas).
  • Support other company initiatives (environmental awareness, local content etc) which contribute to social performance management as requested.
  • Support delivery of field based social investment programmes / projects as required and ensure that social investment initiatives account for community resources / assets / requirements and complement business objectives.
  • Participate and contribute to Social Performance audits / reviews (either internal or external).
  • Engage and manage specialist consultants as required.

    Community Engagement

  • Provide strategic counsel to management to proactively and effectively manage key issues which have social / community implications.
  • Develop and implement a long term public disclosure and community engagement strategy and plan which encompasses all key grassroots stakeholder groups. This includes developing and maintaining a comprehensive stakeholder map.
  • Manage Tullow Kenya’s grievance management system ensuring compliance to international best practice.
  • Develop and maintain close networks with community based stakeholders including regulators, NGOs / CSOs, district officials and community authorities among others. Work closely with Communications to develop and execute targeted engagements with key stakeholders in accordance with an agreed strategy.
  • Represent Tullow at community / stakeholder engagements as required.
  • Work closely with operations to determine extent and focus of engagement activities.

    Leadership & General Management

  • Provide strategic leadership for the impact management and community engagement team to achieve its objectives through team empowerment and effective delegation, whilst also contributing to the overall leadership of the external affairs function.
  • Build and maintain strong team work across the External Affairs function and strive for continual improvement in team performance.
  • Develop and maintain strong team work with Operations as well as other cross-functional teams, such as EHS, Asset Protection, Compliance, Legal etc.
  • Develop and manage organizational capability, team development, and resourcing and succession strategies with support from the functional lead in London and HR.
  • Support annual budget cycle, cost forecasting and key Social Performance contracts as required
  • Impact mitigation and community engagement budget.

    Experience and Education:

  • University Degree (preferably in the humanities, social sciences, anthropology) (minimum).
  • Postgraduate qualifications in social sciences / community relations preferred.
  • Minimum of seven years experience in a social performance role within an onshore extractives or major infrastructure project delivery is essential.
  • Experience in the development of Environmental and Social Management Systems and the practical application of mitigation planning and community engagement methods.
  • Previous experience in the application of the IFC Environmental and Social Performance Standards and other international standards (OGP, ILO Convention etc).
  • Extensive experience in identifying and mapping key stakeholder groups.
  • Demonstrated experience in the management of grievances and grievance management systems. Conflict management skills will be essential.
  • Strong track record in building successful relationships and securing alignment between multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to assess and understand the complex external operating environment and the implications of this with regards to the delivery of social impact mitigations, community consultation and engagement strategies and investment projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce effective frameworks, policies and procedures to ensure efficient operations and appropriate impact / risk management.
  • Understanding of the practical application of best practice ESIA methodology and international standards such as the IFC Performance Standards.
  • Ability to develop and implement external affairs strategies (including stakeholder engagement) to secure desired outcomes and support business objectives.
  • Ability to integrate social outcomes / risks into business and project planning as required.
  • Understanding of the UN Global Compact, Voluntary Principles, EITI and Equator Principles and other Social Performance initiatives.
  • Ability to identify and select appropriate delivery mechanisms for social investment (ie. Project execution, partnerships, outsourcing, leveraging third party finance etc).
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to manage conflict situations including conflict resolution and analysis.
  • Excellent financial skills with experience of budget development and management.
  • Ability to delegate to team members and guide outcomes.
  • Ability to manage external consultants / advisors (as appropriate) to support key deliverables and build capacity.

    Technical Assistant, Land Access

    Responsibilities /Key Objectives:

    Land Framework

  • In cooperation with legal provide input into national legislative and regulatory frameworks as they pertain to community land and access for oil industry activities.
  • In cooperation with key functions, develop an integrated Tullow Oil Kenya Land Access Framework which accounts for (but not necessarily limited to):

    1. National legislation and regulation

    2. Local County procedures

    3. International standards

    4. Land tenure and land use rights

    5. Public disclosure and consultation

    6. Valuation and compensation

    7. Economic and physical displacement

    8. Cultural Heritage

    9. Spatial services

  • In cooperation with the Environmental team, input into the scoping and review of Environmental & Social Impact Assessments (and associated management plans) to ensure matters associated with land access and / or acquisition are appropriately accounted for.
  • Provide technical land management input into the design, development and implementation of the Borealis Information Management System.
  • Cooperate with Tullow Oil GIS to ensure the effective integration of land issues into spatial services to inform engineering design.
  • Coordinate the Tullow Oil Kenya Land Access taskforce and ensure agreed actions are executed in a timely fashion. External Stakeholder Engagement & Grievance Management
  • As requested, support the site based Social Performance & EHS teams in executing stakeholder and community consultation activities in accordance with regulatory and IFC requirements for stakeholder relationship management.
  • Support the timely resolution of stakeholder and community grievances, particularly where this involves issues pertaining to land grievances.
  • Represent Tullow Kenya at key engagements as requested

    Experience and Education:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a land based role (surveying, town / rural planning and infrastructure development).
  • Strong track record in building successful relationships and securing alignment between multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in relationship management, negotiations, and conflict resolution.
  • Solid understanding of international best practice/standards in this area. Particularly as they pertain to land access & acquisition, economic and physical displacement
  • Extensive experience in the application of national and local land legislation / regulations and procedures.
  • Heightened appreciation of the social, cultural and environmental aspects of land access and management.

    Field Supervisor, Stakeholder Engagement

    Reports To: Social Impact Manager

    Responsibilities /Key Objectives:

    Community Relations & Consultation

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders in the operational areas including (but not limited to) impacted communities, County Officials, the media (as requested), NGOs, religious institutions, cultural bodies and internal departments.
  • In cooperation with the Social Investment Coordinator, develop and implement community engagement and social impact mitigation guidelines.
  • Deploy community relations resources according to business requirements and provide input into business planning processes / decisions as required (accounting for operational impacts and stakeholder impacts on the business objectives).
  • Support Corporate Affairs in organising, sponsoring and attending events on behalf of the company and as required.
  • Monitor and prioritise relevant political and social intelligence in the areas of operation to the company and report this information in a timely manner through line management.
  • Provide project specific oversight and ensure compliance from the community relations perspective.
  • Support internal systems and procedures relevant to successful integration of Social Performance requirements in oil exploration and development projects.
  • Manage a team of Field Stakeholder Engagement Officers on a day to day basis (daily planning and execution).
  • Support permitting and compensation aspects in the areas of operation.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of access processes and implement improvements and efficiencies.
  • Participate and contribute to community relations audits / reviews (either internal or external). Social Investment
  • Assist in the day to day execution of field based social enterprise projects and initiatives as requested by the Social Impact Manager and / or Social Investment Coordinator. General Management
  • Provide regular updates to the Social Performance Team on the status of issues pertaining to community relations.
  • Manage external consultancies effectively as required.
  • Manage rotational schedule of community liaison officers and deploy resources according to business requirements.
  • Actively support the training and development of direct reports.

    Experience and Education:

  • Senior education qualified.
  • At least five years previous experience working within a community relations / development role.
  • Experience within a major infrastructure projects / resource sector is critical.
  • Experience operating in a remote, challenging and cross cultural context is essential.
  • Previous exposure to environmental / social impact assessment and management would be desirable. As would exposure to conflict resolution activities.
  • Demonstrated skills in planning and delegation.
  • Build and maintain a network of local stakeholders and informed parties.
  • Ability to translate complex information into strong, easily delivered messages, including the ability to influence, inspire confidence and build trust at all levels.
  • Experience in the management of grievances and grievance management systems.

    Job Purpose:

    To ensure timely and accurate registering and processing of invoices in accordance with Company policies, timely communication to various Suppliers on payments and to maintaining up to date, accurate supplier reconciliations.

    Responsibilities /Key Objectives:

  • Accurately register, code and process invoices for payment ensuring that all invoices are approved in accordance with the Company delegation of authority limits.
  • Follow-up and resolve Invoice Queries Externally and Internally.
  • Ensure monthly reconciliation of vendor accounts.
  • Ensure vendor payments are achieved within the agreed contractual payment terms.
  • Generate aging and other vendor reports as required.
  • Prepare month end accrual journals.
  • Requesting for supplier account creation in Maximo.
  • Participate in and contribute to process and system improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure accurate recordings and treatment of Withholding Tax.
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the JV and Financial accounting team.
  • Assist in audit file preparation. Experience and Education:
  • Degree and CPA/ACCA part qualification.
  • At least 3 years working experience in a similar role.
  • Experience of working in the upstream oil and gas industry would be an added advantage.
  • SUN/SAP working experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a professional attitude
  • Adept at dealing with individuals at all levels in the organisation.
  • High attention to detail and quality, ‘first right time’ approach
