Our client, a global player in the ICT sector, is looking to fill the position of Marketing Manager, Mobile Commerce products.
Reporting to the Marketing Director, the purpose of this position is to implement marketing plans for Mobile Commerce Products, monitor feedback on marketing programme effectiveness in respect to tariffs; product performance and customer experience, and propose corrective actions.
The main responsibilities in this role include:
Develop the M-commerce business model by project managing the cross-functional implementation of the different phases of the business model
Cultivate and build long-term partner and supplier relationships
Guide the development of sales channels to support the m-commerce business model
Adapt m-commerce to different market segments
Provide the appropriate go-to-market and positioning strategy to support the products
Monitor the performance of the products through periodic reports and feedback sessions
Ensure appropriate training of the relevant departments and users
Provide recommendations based on understanding competitor offerings as well as global best practice
Work closely with other departments e.g. Procurement, Supplier development, IT for product performance information and tariff setting, and the Commercial team for the launch of new products
The incumbent must possess the following minimum qualifications and competencies:
A first degree in business, sales or marketing, with a minimum of 2 – 5 years relevant experience.
Holders of an advanced degree, may be considered if they possess 1 – 3 years relevant experience
Must be IT literate, with a keen working appreciation of telecoms environment and an excellent understanding of e-banking and mobile commerce.
Must demonstrate the highest level of knowledge of devices available in the market
Ability to operate in a performance driven organization, a hands on approach and a proven track record of running multiple projects
Culturally aware and adept at working across multiple geographies
Fluency in English and/or Kiswahili
An advanced degree in business management, marketing, planning or statistics is highly desirable
The successful candidate will be customer focused, have business awareness, and demonstrate strong analytical and strategic skills.
He/She must have excellent planning and organizational skills, and be goal oriented.
He/she must have high work standards while exhibiting excellent interpersonal skills, with strong coaching skills and must be an excellent communicator both orally and in the written word.
