ACTED is currently seeking applications from qualified individuals to manage and oversee the implementation of an Education Sector Support Program (PESSP) in Pastoral Areas of Nakapiripirit (Karamoja region of Uganda) and Pokot North (Western Kenya).
As part of this program, ACTED intends to improve the teaching capabilities of teachers and also the capabilities to respond to children with special needs.
Qualifications Required:
University degree in education or related field
Strong background in education, participatory teacher training and learner-centred teaching methodologies
Experience in education management in the developing world
Good knowledge and understanding of education policy issues, including knowledge of planning in emergency and post-conflict environments
Ability to coach and motivate others
High energy level and excellent communication skills
Strong deductive reasoning, problem solving, decision-making, and creative abilities
Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
Ability to work with culturally diverse groups of people
Ability to travel and work in difficult conditions and under pressure;
Benefits: Living allowance of 300 USD per month.
