Cabin Crew
Key Requirements
Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent at NQF Level 6
Ability to swim
Minimum Height of 1.58 M
Height and body weight must be proportionate
Medically fit
Willingness to work shifts, over weekends and Public holidays
Able to work contract work if required
CCM qualified (CAA qualification) an advantage

Direct Pilot Entry Scheme
The minimum requirements for entry into SAA as a Pilot are as follows:
Matriculation Certificate / Grade 12 / N3 or equivalent qualification (SAQA accredited)
Compulsory subjects: Mathematics or Statistics 101 and English (D symbol on higher grade or C symbol on standard grade) coupled with one of the following: Physical Science or Computer Science (D symbol on higher grade or C symbol on standard grade.
Valid South African commercial pilot’s licence or higher with multi engine instrument rating;
Valid class 1 medical
At least 1500 flying hours which includes a minimum of 200 hours on multi-engine aircraft except in certain circumstances as determined by the selection panel; the minimum threshold may be reduced provided that the candidate has appropriate experience
Must be a South African Citizen

Documentation Requirements for Application
All applicants must be prepared to provide the following documentation
Comprehensive Curriculum Vitae including details of race and Nationality (CV must be in SAA format)
Aviation training records
A summary of all the types of aircraft flown and the number of hours flown in each
Aviation career history and any other employment history
Certified copies of the following
1. Last page of the logbook
2. Birth certificate
3. South African Identity Document
4. Pilot License
5. Matric Certificate
A Passport photograph
Additionally applicants are required to include a minimum of two contactable references who will preferably be their previous employers
Formal Education certificates are advantageous

SAA Cadet Pilot Development Program
Once sufficient flying experience has been obtained and should suitable vacancies arise in SAA, successful cadets will be eligible to apply for an appropriate position in line with SAA’s recruitment and selection processes.
It is imperative to note that taking part in the Cadet Development Program does not guarantee employment at SAA.
Matric Certificate/Final Grade 12 results/N3 or relevant tertiary qualifications (SAQA accredited). Compulsory subjects include:
1. Mathematics or Statistics 101
2. Physical Science
3. English. These subjects to be passed on D symbol on Higher Grade or C symbol on Standard Grade or Level 5 and above
Candidates with/without previous flying experience/valid pilot licence will be considered
Must pass a security competency assessment
Must be a South African citizen
Must be willing to relocate for approximately 54 weeks
Must sign a training bond

Maximum of 27 years old at time of application
At least 1.6 metres tall
Technically orientated
Must be medically fit
