Scholarships for Kenyans - Japanese Government Scholarships; Scholarship applications are invited from interested Kenyans wishing to study at Japanese Schools, Universities, Colleges of Technology and Specialized Training Colleges.

Under the scholarship, tuition fees, air fares and an adequate living allowance will be paid by the Japanese Government.

1. Undergraduate Students

Scholarships for KCSE graduates interested in pursuing undergraduate courses in Japan. 

Qualifications

(a) Kenyans aged 16 - 21

(b) KCSE Mean Grade “A Plain”  and with grades “A Plain” in  at least 4 subjects which must  include, Mathematics, and “’A  Minus” in English and Kiswahili.

2. College of Technology Student

Scholarships for KCSE graduates interested in pursuing technology and engineering courses in Japan.

College of Technology certificates are comparable to non-degree “Higher Diplomas”.

Qualifications

(a) Kenyans aged 16 - 21

(b) Minimum of KCSE Mean Grade “A Minus” with grades “A Minus” in, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and “B Plus” in English

3. Specialized Training College Student

Scholarships for KCSE graduates interested in pursuing professional training courses in Japan.

Professional Training College certificates are comparable to non-degree “Diplomas.”

Qualifications

(a) Kenyans aged 16 - 21

(b) Minimum of KCSE Mean Grade “B Plain” and with  grades “B Plus” or higher in  Mathematics and “B Plain” in  English.

4. Research Student

Scholarships to study for Masters or Doctoral degrees or post-graduate research in Japanese graduate institutions.

Qualification

(a) Kenyans aged 34 and below

(b) Holder of a Bachelor’s degree (second class, upper division) or a Master’s degree.

How to Apply

Prospective applicants should read the details carefully and download FREE application forms found in the website (see links below) or pick the forms from Japan Information and Culture Centre situated within the premises of the Embassy of Japan along Mara Road, Upper Hill in Nairobi. 

Documents to be submitted are listed on the application form. 

The form and the documents may be hand delivered or posted but must be received by the Scholarships Desk before the deadline. 

Applicants are advised to apply long before the deadline.

Scholarship Seminar

We will hold two seminars in order to share more information on the scholarship. The details are as follows:

Date: Wednesday, May 04, 2016 and Saturday, May 07, 2016 Time: 2:00p.m. – 4:00p.m.

Venue: Japan Information & Culture Centre, Embassy of Japan, Mara Road, Upper Hill

Kindly note that in order for one to attend the seminar, registration is required.
