Overall Job Purpose

To provide leadership and direction to the Sales and Marketing functions thus achieving the delivery of the General Insurance Business Budget and growth in market share.

Job Profile

  • Develop a marketing strategy that is able to foster the achievement of set business goals in respect to top line, profitability, market share, client recruitment etc.
  • Develop and implement advertising, promotion and public relations campaigns to help build brand name and image in the market piace.
  • Drive the development and update of -marketing materials such as brochures and pamphlets.
  • Drive the achievement of total company budget sales through both the direct sales force, brokers and agents.
  • Ensure the branch network is highly productive and profitable.
  • Review and update all distribution channels, including: direct sales, brokers, agents, branches so as to ensure maximum client reach at appropriate cost levels.
  • Drive market research that is aimed at identifying new business potential and participate in the development of new products to fill special market niches.
  • Launch new products to the market piace and ensure that brokers, agents and the direct force are fully trained in such products.
  • Set customer care service standards for the company and ensure that these are met through continuous monitoring.
  • Compile weekly and monthly production reports for the division.
  • Ensure that quality incentive schemes that help to drive the achievement of business goals are developed and implemented for staff and agents.
  • Monitor competitor activity and advise the senior management team on opportunities / threats that are presented by such activities.

    Person Profile

  • Graduate, and preferably an MBA in Marketing or equivalent. Over 5 years in a senior sales and marketing position in a service industry but insurance experience will be a distinct advantage.
  • ACII / FCII wili be an added advantage.
  • Numerate and strategic thinker.
  • Result driven high performer with a demonstrable track record.
  • A team player/ motivational team leader.
  • A very attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with the right candidate.
