Responsible To: Country Director

Working With: Operations/Project Coordinators, Health, Logistics and Finance/Admin Teams

Location: South Darfur

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 12 Months

Salary and Benefits: £18,000 - £23,040 plus cost of living allowance of £4,649 per annum (subject to exchange rate), insurance cover, accommodation, flights, and holiday allowance ($145 per month) when in field

Person Specification

Essential

Extensive experience in safety related skills in international emergency situations including evacuation coordination, safety assessments, safety training

Strong interpersonal and supportive team skills plus proven ability to be flexible and remain calm in demanding situations.

Administration, analytical skills and report/comprehensive summary writing

Experience of management/supervisory responsibilities

Training/presentation skills

General practical competencies in radio communications (Motorola and CODAN) and satellite communications

Ability to adapt to a changing environment

Ability to work in insecure and demanding environments

Diplomatic and an effective communicator at all levels

Strong leadership skills

Flexibility and ability to work within different cultural and political environments.

Excellent spoken and written English

Advantageous

Previous experience within the region

Knowledge of Arabic

Technical skills – radio maintenance and installation
