The Swiss Forum for International Agricultural Research (SFIAR) is an informal multi-stakeholder group of Swiss institutions and private individuals interested in agricultural research for development (ARD).
The SFIAR awards new, innovative and result oriented research projects with a prize sum of CHF 5'000 (CHF 10'000 for a team)
Members come from research institutions, NGOs, the private sector, farmers' organisations and public
The goals and objectives of SFIAR are:
Sharing information between ARD stakeholders in Switzerland
Promoting the visibility of Swiss ARD
Playing an advocacy role at policy level
Serving as a national partner in international initiatives
Promoting collaboration between actors in Swiss ARD
The prize sum of the SFIAR Award is CHF 5'000 for an individual and CHF 10'000 for a team.
The Award is offered annually.
Scientists working (or having worked) for a Swiss institution and with at least one partner in a developing country can apply for the SFIAR Award.
The research submitted for the Award should have been completed preferably no longer than two years ago.
Teams are encouraged to apply for the award.
The team leader decides on the distribution of the award money.
