The IRC is an international agency with offices in London, Brussels, New York, and Geneva.
Location: Sudan (Northern Bahr-el-Ghazal)
Minimum of 3 years experience in protection-related and/or human rights-related field;
Advanced university degree, preferably in Human Rights, International Law, International Relations or related fields;
In-depth knowledge of international human rights standards particularly as they pertain to internally displaced persons;
Knowledge of Sphere standards;
Previous work experience with refugees, displaced persons or returnees in a complex emergencies and/or post conflict situations, preferably in a return situation;
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage local staff;
Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive situations diplomatically;
Demonstrated ability to write concise, analytical and well-argued reports;
Demonstrated training skills and experience as a trainer;
Ability to work under pressure and respond to last-minute requests with a great deal of flexibility;
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings;
Fluency in English.
Experience in returnee monitoring
Familiar with designing measures to prevent, mitigate and respond to right violations and abuses;
Previous experience working with international partners such as UNHCR, UNICEF, UNDP, OCHA, etc.;
Relevant experience in Sudan and/or East Africa;
