The Center seeks to recruit professionals with outstanding academic and professional qualifications, who have an inner drive for research excellence and strong commitment to developing professional and institutional research capacity in Africa.

APHRC is looking for accomplished scholars in any of the following fields to join its multi-disciplinary team based at its headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya.

  • Policy Analysis
  • Urban Studies
  • Economics
  • Education
  • Public Health
  • Population Studies

    Each of these positions requires a PhD in a relevant field, at least five years of productive postdoctoral research experience, sustained, strong record of scholarly publications and demonstrated ability to raise and manage research grants.

    These senior positions come with an attractive, internationally competitive remuneration package including employer paid medical, travel, life insurance cover and retirement benefits.

    Allowances toward in-relocation, home leave travel and dependants’ education are provided. For all positions, preference will be given to nationals of sub-Saharan African countries.
