Consortium for National Health Research Internship Programme (Kenya)

This Programme will offer ten (10) scholarships in the first year.

The scholarships will provide a maximum period of six months internship.

During this period, the successful interns will benefit from very close mentorship and supervision of senior research scientists.

Among the exposure likely to be experienced, interns stand to learn about modern approaches in scientific research, and gain first-hand experience from performing scientific procedures with the aid of varied sophisticated, analytical and diagnostic equipment.

Through this programme, the Consortium seeks to engage with enthusiastic, motivated young graduates who understand the place of health research in the development of Kenya.

Applicants should be willing to dedicate their time fully in field and laboratory conditions.

They need to be well versed in computer use, and will be expected to use the Internet often to source scientific information.

Eligibility
The successful interns must satisfy the following criteria:

  • Be Kenyan citizens;
  • Be recent (past three years) first degree graduate in medical, biomedical or social science from a recognized institution.
  • Graduates qualified in other disciplines that contribute to aspects of health research are also eligible; and
  • Have a minimum of an upper second (or credit for non-classified first degrees).
