The purpose of the grants is to provide opportunities for post-graduate students to contribute to the generation of scientific knowledge relevant to the conservation of the over 333 globally threatened species found in the 160 Key Biodiversity Areas in the Eastern Arc Mountains and Coastal Forests of Kenya and Tanzania
Nature of Grants:
The size of the grants will vary between $5,000 and $10,000 but preference will be given to requests for smaller amounts.
The grants will not cover salaries and stipends but can include subsistence during fieldwork.
Preference will be given to applicants who are resident in Kenya or Tanzania and registered at a local college or university.
Eligible research must contribute to at least one of the two themes of the grant, namely:
