Qualifications:
1. Education
A post graduate qualification (MSc or PhD) in Ecology, Natural Resource Management, Development economics and other field directly related to conservation and development
10 or more years of proven field experience
Experience, Skills & Knowledge
Excellent and demonstrable leadership and management skills, with extensive experience of applied conservation in Africa.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Experience in management and administration of projects or basic training in business administration.
Outstanding interpersonal skills including the ability to represent AWF at the highest levels of government and donor agencies.
Genuine respect for the skills and perspectives of communities, partner organizations and the private sector.
Proven ability to conceptualize and write project documents and reports.
Ability to communicate effectively with a wide group of collaborators, including proactive sharing of information and reporting.
Basic computer and internet skills
Ability to manage and direct teams
Ability and willingness to fulfill AWF administrative and accounting procedures
Commitment to AWF and its mission
