Position Title: Regional Director for East Africa
Duty Station: Nairobi, Kenya
Duration: Fixed Term. 2 Years with a probation period of 3 months
Availability: January

VSF-BELGIUM is an NGO working with disadvantaged communities to increase their standard of living and improve food security through improved animal health and animal production.

In East Africa, our programmes focus on community based animal health services, training centers for mid-level animal health workers and rinderpest eradication.


  • Lead and coordinate the Regional Office for East Africa ("RON");
  • Develop and implement a regional strategy within the global strategy of VSF-BELGIUM;
  • Establish and maintain contacts with donors agencies in East Africa and abroad ;
  • Representation of VSFB Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Development of 3 year regional strategy and defining subsequent annual plans within this straExplore and act on opportunities for new projects, donors and networks;
  • Support, develop and empower RON staff;
  • Ensure that RON operates legally and efficiently;
  • Ensure that RON issues are transmitted to Head Office and vice versa;
  • Networking Essentials or Minimum Requirements
  • Education
  • Relevant advanced university degree
  • Knowledge and experience
  • Several years of senior management experience
  • Experience in strategic planning
  • At least 5 years of experience in development in Africa
  • Fluent in English Skills
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically and put this into practice
  • Excellent managerial skills
  • Excellent team builder
  • Good organizational and planning skills
  • Strong communication skills (interpersonal), reporting skills,
  • ability to prepare and present issues at all levels
  • Good networking skills
  • Ability to manage change in an organization
  • Computer literacy Attitudes
