The MC Sudan Office is seeking to recruit an ambitious and self-
motivated individual for the position of Programme Coordinator
Southern Sudan to coordinate our work on malaria, and other
communicable disease, control in Southern Sudan.
In particular, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Establish and manage the MC Southern Sudan Office
Develop technical and operational partnerships with technical agencies and NGOs active in Southern Sudan to improve joined up planning and implementation
Establish sound relations with donors based in Southern Sudan
Coordinate MC activities in Southern Sudan
Identify technical assistance needs of the Southern Sudan Malaria
Control Programme and liaise with MC Sudan and MC Africa to support these
Provide routine technical support to the Southern Sudan Malaria Control Programme
Support MC advisors in the provision of periodic external technical
support to the Southern Sudan Malaria Control Programme and other partners
Facilitate Southern Sudan / North Sudan collaboration.
Provide periodic technical support to the MC Sudan Office in Khartoum
Identify funding opportunities, develop concepts and proposals with MC teams and generate new resources for communicable disease control in Southern Sudan
Be responsible for security management for MC Southern Sudan Office
Be responsible for financial monitoring and accountability in the MC Southern Sudan Office
Experience, skills and qualifications
Communicable disease control in conflict and/or post-conflict
Ability to work and live in difficult settings
Experience in resource mobilisation/business development
MPH or Masters in related/relevant discipline
Clinical qualification (Medical Doctor, Nurse) an advantage
Knowledge of Arabic an advantage
Line management: Malaria Consortium Africa, Regional Director.
Location: Juba with travel within Southern Sudan and regular travel to Khartoum (MC Sudan) and Kampala (MC Africa).
