Program Manager II-AIDS Relief Coordinator

Catholic Relief Services (CRS), an international non-governmental agency specializing in relief and community development, is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill an opening with AIDS Relief (AR), a dynamic HIV/AIDS treatment program.

CRS is leading the implementation of the AIDS Relief project in Kenya in partnership with Constella Futures, the Institute of Human Virology (IHV) and Catholic Medical Mission Board.

The AIDS Relief Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring the day to day implementation of AIDS Relief Project activities while coordinating them across all consortium members.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Representation and Coordination: Attend CCT meetings and present program updates on behalf of the CRS AR Program team

  • Supervise CRS AIDS Relief Project Officers: Hold regular program-finance working group meetings to coordinate work within CRS and with CMMB

  • Program Management: Ensure that the AIDS Relief program meets agreed upon standards of quality and complies with donor and CRS policies and procedures.

  • Reporting and budgeting: Assist CoP with the completion of monthly, semi-annual and annual donor reports for the AR-Kenya Consortium


  • Masters Degree in International Development, Public Health, or related field.

  • Minimum 5 years overseas development experience, supervision experience preferred.

  • Strong working knowledge of ART programming. 2-3 years ART programming experience strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience and ability to manage, prioritize, and design large and complex budgets across multiple partners.

  • Demonstrated ability in field research, rapid assessment, proposal development, program analysis, project monitoring & evaluation

  • Experience working on US government funded grants. Familiarity with US Government Compliance regulations preferred.

  • Representational abilities and diplomatic skills. Experience working with a consortium a plus.

  • Demonstrated commitment to development through local empowerment

  • Capacity to work closely with, understand, and support local Church partners

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills

  • Strong interpersonal, cross-cultural, and training/mentoring skills

  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of diverse task teams

  • Sub-Saharan Africa and/or Kenya experience helpful

  • Advanced computer literacy, especially in Excel

  • English fluency. Proficiency in French, Spanish, or Portuguese strongly preferred.
