Primary Health Care Project Manager - Ethiopia

CCM is seeking to recruit a Program Manager for a program aiming to strengthening maternal health services and increasing their utilization in Ethiopia, Oromia region, Bale zone.

The project aims at reducing maternal and neonatal mortality in Bale Zone by strengthening and expanding maternal health services.

The position is field based with occasional periods of work in Addis Ababa for liaison purposes, report writing, consultation meetings and workshops.


  • Degree in Medicine.
  • Master’s Degree in Public Health, Tropical Medicine or any other relevant field.
  • 3 years of relevant working experience.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good command of both written and spoken English (TOEFL score equivalent to or higher than 250 is desirable).
  • Past experience in Ethiopia will be an advantage.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility of the program and coordination of its activities, selection and training of local staff, monitoring and evaluation visits of the PHC units and PHC centers, programmatic report writing in electronic format.

  • Establish a Maternal Health Coordinating Team at zonal level.
  • Develop and disseminate guidelines and protocols, develop tools and procedures for data collection (Health Information System).
  • Supervise ethnographic studies.
  • Develop and produce IEC, Health Promotion and Visibility materials.
  • Ensure proper and timely reporting of program activities by the peripheral units.
  • Carry out regular supervisory visits to the peripheral units to assess the capacity of the health workers and the quality of service delivery.
  • Provide liaison and coordination function between CCM and other stakeholders on the ground.
  • Supervise the logistics involved in the program implementation, including procurement and transportation of supplies, infrastructure rehabilitation and construction.
  • Supervise the administrative and financial activities of all the units in the field.
  • Submit monthly activity and quarterly progress reports to the Office in Addis Ababa and to the Desk Officer in Turin.
  • Perform any other duties as may be designated by CR, Desk Officer and HQ.
