Platform2 in Kenya

Volunteer Africa » Volunteering Africa » Volunteer in Africa

Platform2 is a global volunteering experience funded by the UK Government Department for International Development (DFID) and run by Christian Aid and BUNAC.

This experience gives a unique opportunity to 18-25 years old from the UK to volunteer in a developing country and then come back and creatively express their experiences in the UK.

It's aimed at people who wouldn't get the chance to volunteer abroad, so it's fully-funded and free for the volunteer. Platform2 is a 3 year programme which will see more than 2,500 18-25 years old volunteer for 10 weeks in a number of developing countries including Kenya, South Africa, Ghana, India and Peru.

It's fully-funded and free for the volunteer.

One of the important features of Platform2 is that the volunteers are asked to relate the benefits and experiences of their trip in their community - through music, art, film, photography - whatever the volunteer may be into.

In Kenya, Platform2 works in partnership with Advance Africa. Our projects are located in Meru and Kikuyu.
