The Pharmaceutical Management Officer is responsible for providing overall procurement, warehousing, distribution and logistics information strategy for managing public health commodities at KEMSA and MOH facilities.
She or he has primary responsibility for demonstrating SPS expertise to provide technical assistance and respond to the Kenya Millennium Challenge Account –Threshold Program needs.
This includes identifying opportunities for supporting KEMSA and other stakeholders with procurement, warehousing, distribution and health commodities information management, training staff and client organizations in documenting and dissemination supplies management information.
As part of the SPS management team, the pharmaceutical management officer plays a key role in the KEMSA’s overall strategic planning and participates in organization-wide activities.
Bachelor's Degree or other equivalent relevant professional training or experience in pharmacy systems, Master's degree preferred.
Significant pharmaceutical management experience, including demonstrated ability to supervise a diverse team to achieve project goals.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others in developing creative and strategic solutions to achieve common goals.
Experience cultivating and managing client relationships, and developing and managing workplans and budgets to achieve client goals.
Strong organizational and communications skills.
Knowledge of and/or experience in pharmaceutical management and public health management issues in the developing world preferred.
Willingness and ability to be flexible and shift gears depending on changing priorities and deadlines.
Ability to travel domestically up to 25-30% of the time.
Strong English skills with additional fluency in a second language preferred.
