The successful candidate will work in a Swiss National Science Foundation supported research project about skeletal heterochronies in mammals and other amniotes, under the supervision of Prof. Marcelo Sánchez.
The Ph.D. project will build upon an existing research program and includes museum visits world wide and extensive lab work.

The ideal candidate will be a highly-motivated zoologist with neontological or palaeontological background.
Previous participation in research activities and excellent writing skills in English are required, knowledge of speaking German is desirable.
Perspective students are expected to have received their Master's degree or equivalent by the start of the Ph.D. program.
The selected candidate will be expected to help in teaching (3 to 5 hours weekly average, 3-4 months per year) and writing proposals to raise additional research funds.
