The project is a cooperation with the group of Prof.dr. K.J. Hellingwerf from the Swammerdam Institute of Life Sciences of the University of Amsterdam.

Organization Foundation for Fundamental Research on Matter
AMOLF, the Institute for Atomic and Molecular Physics, is one of the five research institutes of the Dutch Foundation for Fundamental Research on Matter (FOM).
The institute was founded in 1949 to separate isotopes by electromagnetic separation methods.
When the institute moved to the current building in 1960, it had 69 employees. Nowadays the institute houses approximately 180 employees and a number of guest scientists.
The current research at AMOLF focuses on three areas:
Life science inspired physics, nanophysics and femtosecond dynamics of matter.
With an annual budget of about 10 million euro, AMOLF yearly publishes about 120 scientific papers, of which 10-15 in Physical Review Letters, Nature or Science.
Every year about 10 of AMOLF's students obtain their PhD degree from one of the 7 universities where 14 AMOLF staff members hold a professorship.
Conditions of employment Estimated maximum salary per month: eur 2000 - 2500

Additional conditions of employment:
When fulfilling a PhD position at the FOM foundation, you will get the status of junior scientist.
You will have an employee status and can participate in all the employee benefits FOM offers.
You will get a contract for 4 years.
Your salary will be up to a maximum of 2,405 euro gross per month.
You are supposed to have a thesis finished at the end of your four year term with FOM.
A training programme is part of the agreement.
You and your supervisor will make up a plan for the additional education and supervising that you specifically need.
This plan also defines which teaching activities you will be responsible (up to a maximum of 10% of your time).
