The International Max Planck Research School for Analysis, Design and Optimization in Chemical and Biochemical Process Engineering in Magdeburg invites applications for these Phd Scholarships.

Depending on the qualification and personal situation the successful candidates will receive either a working contract (TVöD/L E13, full position) for 2 years plus 1 year of possible extension or a scholarship for 2 years plus 1 year of possible extension. The scholarship is free of tax and social insurance.

Outstanding young international and German scientists from engineering sciences as well as mathematics, biology, chemistry and physics are being sought.

The PhD students should hold an excellent recent university degree equivalent to a Master or Diploma degree from a German university.

You should bring motivation and interest to integrate into the interdisciplinary character of research in the IMPRS.

Good English language skills are mandatory.

Deadline: November 30.

A selection workshop will take place at the end of January 2008.

Final decisions will be given by February 8.

The beginning of the term is March 31.
