PhD Studentship at the University of Surrey - UK

Applications are invited for a fully-funded PhD studentship supervised by Professor D.M. Heyes (Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences), University of Surrey in collaboration with Prof. M.A. Koenders (Faculty of Science), Kingston University.

The studentship will provide funding for a full-time student for 3 years to cover tuition fees at the home rate, plus an annual stipend of £12,600 pa, increasing in line with national stipend levels in subsequent years.

The student will be based at the University of Surrey.

Applicants should have a Masters degree, or a 2.1 or First in mathematics, physics, chemistry or engineering, or associated subject. Experience in computer programming is essential (preferably Fortran or C/C++).

The deadline for applications is 12th November 2007. Interviews will be held in the week beginning 26th November 2007.

Applications should be in the form of a CV and a short statement about why you would be ideally suited to undertake this studentship, plus the names of two academic referees.

Overseas fee paying students would pay fees which at the current rate are £10,700 p.a., less the contribution from the home rate which is currently £3240 p.a..
