Ideal candidates have a MSc or an equivalent degree in Economics or Econometrics, a strong interest in Applied Econometrics, Regional Economics and Macroeconomics.
They should have or be willing to acquire good programming skills.
Applicants should be research oriented and have the desire to pursue an academic career or to continue their career doing research in Economics within the public or private sector.
The PhD program of the University of Lugano is structured in two phases:
one preparatory year of intensive coursework followed by no less than two years of advanced studies and research.
