Safaricom Limited is pleased to announce the following vacancy in the Network Assurance Section within the Technical Division.

In keeping with our current business needs, it is looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below.

Network Assurance Terminal Test Engineer

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Network Assurance, the holder of the position will provide technical expertise in Mobile terminal testing and product terminal conformance tests, development and automation of mobile terminal test procedures before they are introduced in the Safaricom network.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop test plans and procedures;

Assist on the review of test processes as they are developed;

Test software releases during product development and provide reports;

Configure hardware & operating environments as needed to complete assigned testing;

Provide technical expertise on specific products, operating systems and specialized environments and manage the defects database;

Minimum Requirements:

Degree in either Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering or in Telecommunications;

At least 2 years mobile terminal testing experience;

Programming experience in: TCL, C+, C++, C#, Java, Visual Studio 2005, .NET, and SAS;

Acquainted with mobile communication network, e.g., GSM, GPRS and UMTS;

Previous experience working with telecommunications standards and IT standards preferred – ETSI, 3GPP, Bluetooth, WiFi;
