The National Council for Law Reporting is a state corporation established by the National Council for Law Reporting Act, 1994.

The statutory mandate of the Council is to publish the official Kenya Law Reports which are compilations of the decisions of the superior courts of Kenya, and the revision and updating the Laws of Kenya.

The Council is a leading publisher of public legal information.

Job Title: Archivist (1 post), Ref: NCLR/ HR /2012/ 07

KLR Grade: KLR 9

Reporting to: Assistant Librarian

Department: Research and Department

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities at this level will include recording book titles into database; cataloging library material, typing from drafts; and operating other related machines.

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must:

  • Be in possession of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education
  • Be in possession of a Certificate in Archives & Records Management or equivalent
  • Have modern computer application skills including package on database management.

    In addition to the above requirement, an officer must have the following key competences:
