1. Administration and Finance Division

Finance Officer

Scale 15

Job Description:

This the highest position in the scheme.

The Finance Officer will be answerable to the Deputy Principal (A&F).

The holder of this office will be responsible for the overall formulation and implementation of the finance strategy for the department; advising the University management on all financial matters; responsible for efficient organization, control and supervision of all accounting units.

Responsible for review, planning, co-ordination, design, implementation, development of accounting services and systems, timely submission of annual financial statements and accounts and setting and maintaining high accounting standards in the University.

Those to be appointed should have:-

  • A Masters degree from a recognized University in a relevant field such as MBA, with 10 years relevant experience, at least 5 years as Chief Accountant or equivalent in institutions of higher learning.
  • CPA III
  • Registered member of ICPAK or an equivalent Accounting body.
  • Practical experience of ICT is mandatory at this level.
  • Consistently demonstrated outstanding qualities for leadership, coordination and organization capabilities at top management level.
  • Holders of PhD in relevant field will have an added advantage.

    In addition successful candidates shall be entitled to a generous house allowance commensurate with their seniority.

    Deputy Registrar Administration – (in-charge of council matters)

    Scale 14

    For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:-

  • Served in the grade of Senior Assistant Registrar grade 13 for at least three (3) years;
  • A Masters Degree in Administration/Management or its equivalent from a recognized University
  • Demonstrated a high degree of professional competence and administrative capability in work performance.
  • Experience as Senior Assistant Registrar (Council matters).

    In addition successful candidates shall be entitled to a generous house allowance commensurate with their seniority.
