NBI Accountant

Under the overall general guidance of Regional Project Coordinator of the FPEW I and direct supervision of ENTRO Finance Officer, the Accountant handles and assists financial management activities of Eastern Nile Flood Preparedness and Early Warning Project I.

Responsibility:

  • Compiling supporting documents and preparing payment vouchers;

  • checking petty cash payments and preparing for replenishment; encoding transactions on the Financial Management System (FMS).

  • maintaining register of both soft and hard copies of fixed assets of FPEW Project I.

  • preparing payment requests; preparing Income tax and other bills settlements; controlling advances and payables.

  • preparing Bank Reconciliation Statements of the project and performing other tasks assigned to him by the Finance Officer of ENTRO.

    Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelors Degree in accounting is required, should have a minimum of 5 years professional experience in double entry accounting.

  • Worldbank-financed projects experience is an added advantage and proficiency in English language is required.

    Terms of Employment:

  • Salary: in accordance with the ENTRO job grading and corresponding salary scale

  • Duration: One year contract with an initial three months probation period, renewable subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funds.

  • Duty station; Eastern Nile Technical Regional Office (ENTRO) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
