Marketing Associate
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Marketing Development
Deliver primary and secondary research that helps define market assumptions and consumer behaviours/profiles; research sources may include consumer surveys, focus groups, the internet, industry experts, market intelligence companies and internal knowledge.
Develop complete understanding of the factors that go into the revenue and cost side of the business opportunity and provide recommendations to maximise revenue.
Collaborate with leadership and future strategy teams to develop and maintain product category SWOT analyses; identify market trends, develop and prioritise a profitable product plan to meet consumer needs.
Facilitate future-focused product ideation sessions and capture output for continuous design exploration; develop longer term product category/mix roadmaps based on deep and broad consumer profiling.
Interface with cross-functional teams and outside agencies to develop and lead product goto-market strategy and plan.
Create data-driven, dynamic, 'voice-of-the-customer' marketing strategies and tests that deliver against Return on Investment (ROI) targets through a segmented customer base across marketing channels.
Ensure consistent brand messaging across TV, print, radio, digital and social media (Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, etc) marketing channels.
Collaborate with leadership and external agencies to develop key messaging and specific advertising copy/design/packaging for campaigns across marketing channels; including detailed associated budgets.
Facilitate legal review of all advertising copy before launch.
Execute local sales and marketing initiatives and develop plans to implement new innovative sales and marketing initiatives.
Contribute to comprehensive testing matrix that accurately assesses delivery and performance of each marketing campaign on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Maintain and ensure high levels of data hygiene and integrity with fast-growing, high-volume data capture from market.
Manage a future sales team to maintain strong relationships with key strategic customers such as large NGOs, government buyers and high potential individual entrepreneurs.
Act as a liaison for all external media enquiries or articles, working with the CEO when necessary to facilitate interviews or other content.
Project Management
Take ownership of projects; plan milestones, timelines, budgets, resources and identify potential risks to deliver supply chain aspects within agreed completion dates.
Be proactive regarding task completion and periodically advise wider team on project status, timing, resources, issues, and ability to deliver on-time with excellence.
Ensure adherence and compliance to general automotive industry marketing standards and best practices; maintain structured and versioned data outputs daily and backup data weekly.
Work as an active member of the team, ensure effective communication between colleagues and positively contribute regularly to meetings and briefings.
Qualifications

Sales Officer
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Sales Generation & Administration
Manage the identification/close of sales and the process for entering sales orders to ensure data integrity and accuracy in a timely manner:
Support Marketing Associate to deliver primary and secondary research that helps define market assumptions and consumer behaviours/profiles.
Support Marketing Associate to develop customer promotions/contests and motivational initiatives to focus on business sales objectives.
Manage and prioritise list of target buyers both with existing customer contact information and newly interested customers from various marketing initiatives.
Identify and evaluate potential local vehicle dealer partners. On-board authorised dealers and support consistent brand messaging within this network.
Schedule product demonstrations with target customers and deliver a polished, professional and compelling sales message.
Follow-up with interested buyers to arrange payment for pre-orders/sales; liaise with relevant financing institutions to connect customers to appropriate finance options.
Process payments, refunds and confirm receipt of payment, verifying accuracy and completeness of documentation on sales.
Record details of sale, communicating detail of sale within organization.

Vehicle Registration, Compliance & Support
Support the customer to register their vehicle with KRA and obtain an associated license plate:
Develop full understanding of local compliance and registration requirements and identify any potential conflicts/issues within organization and with customer.
Create a customer quotation for vehicle sale and issue final registration documentation (VIN, configuration, customer invoice).
Confirm all purchase orders match sales data entered (VIN, configuration, customer invoice).
Verify completeness and accuracy of transaction prior to vehicle release. For direct delivery; coordinate, send and receipt documents and final payment.
Deliver comprehensive customer after sales support, working across the organization to provide a timely and courteous resolution to any problems.
Vehicle Production Services
Provide comprehensive vehicle production services throughout sales lifecycle:
Work with Production and Sales & Marketing teams to ensure timely flow of vehicle orders to meet customer demand requirements and production schedules.
Manage and develop sales planning documentation and processes to “fulfil” production planning requirements.
Plan and manage vehicle scheduling and production from order, scheduled to build, production, through delivery to Logistics team.
Ensure vehicle orders are sequenced and built per customer specification, including the “change order” request process.
Manage vehicle shipping to point where handed over to Logistics team for delivery.
Project Management
Take ownership of projects; plan milestones, timelines, budgets, resources and identify potential risks to deliver supply chain aspects within agreed completion dates.

Human Centered Design
Plan and lead first-hand buyer and end-user research in order to discover consumer insights that both inform and inspire design and innovation of future prototype vehicles.
Determine users physical, financial, cognitive, social, emotional, and cultural needs; including uncovering unmet, ambiguous or disparate user needs and clearly framing these insights to enable the design team to develop imaginative and appropriate prototype solutions.
Facilitate design team through analysis and synthesis of buyer and end-user research, helping to distil, consolidate and structure the most important insights and link them together in frameworks, principles and implications for on going prototype design.

Customer Financing
Liaise with local banks, international MFIs and internal sales team to develop a deep understanding of loan/credit products available to customers in Kenya and East Africa.
Identify key partner lending institutions that may offer financing to our customers to purchase Mobius vehicles and determine the financial and non-financial terms of such an engagement.
Facilitate the negotiation of attractive end-to-end partnership agreements with select finance institutions and Mobius leadership.
Maintain strong relationship with partner financing institutions and work with sales team to ensure potential and current customers have ready access to the appropriate finance channels.
Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E)
Define key indicators to monitor commercial and social impact of Mobius vehicle usage against an on going timeline; including sales team performance, vehicle performance, buyer behavioural change and user socio-economic advantage.
Assess the effectiveness and efficiency of sale/distribution activities, outputs and outcomes; and adoption/diffusion of key product innovations, reporting on major constraints and opportunities.
Develop and implement simple, structured and relevant tools to effectively monitor and evaluate our commercial and social impact against defined indicators.
Maintain dialogue with all key actors within and outside the company to gather data leading to performance assessment of the output, outcome and impact of our intervention.
Ensure monitoring tools are updated regularly and compile reports concerning on going commercial and social performance.
Deliver clear and structured periodic documentation outlining M&E analysis; including processes, challenges and lessons learned from M&E.
Communicate key M&E stats within the company and support the development of funding and partnership proposals, specifically on content concerning commercial and social impact.
Conduct training and support all staff on M&E and identify continuous monitoring priority areas for the company.

Distribution Manager
The role will require close working relationships with East African automotive suppliers, the venture’s Supply Chain Senior Associate, Procurement & Regulatory Manager, Technical Director and Mechanics; to coordinate purchases, delivery, and quality assurance of inputs into Mobius vehicle service and spare parts networks.
Distribution Setup
Develop ordering and logistics strategy to determine lowest cost and highest service levels to ensure spare part availability to Mobius customers.
Identify and support selection of international and local suppliers for service and spare parts.
Analyse and establish in-country service and spare part distribution network, including evaluating potential partners, warehouse sites and hub-and-spoke versus point-to-point distribution networks strategies.
Establish process for inventory management; including ordering, receiving, point of sale transactions and stocking level rationalisation.
Establish low cost strategy for delivering finished vehicles from contract assembler in Kenya to customers.
Distribution Management
Monitor and analyse performance of international and local suppliers for service and spare parts against agreed metrics.
Negotiate and manage outsourced in-country transportation network of spare parts.
Coordinate with Procurement team to optimise sourcing for component parts between production components and after sale.
Coordinate with Marketing team to identify potential aftermarket parts, not included in the base vehicle, that can be developed locally and sold at profit within after sales market.
Track warranty claims and perform analysis of spend between service parts, warranty claims, and ancillary component sales and profitability.
Develop financial cash flow forecasts that align with inventory and ordering requirements.
Work with Procurement & Regulatory Manager and freight forwarders to manage customs documentation and clearance.
Identify service and spare parts for localised manufacture within Kenya.
Work with Supply Chain Senior Associate to develop service and spare parts distribution strategy for product launches in Tanzania and Uganda for 2015 and beyond.
Track supplier performance and work with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain colleagues to conduct supplier development.
Support Sales team to identify and evaluate future franchised sales partners in key locations within East Africa (initially Kenya).
Qualifications

Organisation Associate
The role will require a close working relationship with the venture’s CEO, Operations Director, Financial Director, Operations Officer and future production and strategy teams and across the entire organisation as a whole. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Internal Development
Values System: formalise a clear and compelling values system for the venture with the CEO and lead initiatives to translate this into a strong, understood and lasting organisation culture.
Systems Development: develop robust and scalable HR and Administrative systems across the organisation, from tactical to strategic.
Recruiting: facilitate leadership discussions around the staffing strategy and manage the end-to-end recruitment and on boarding of international and local staff, including developing job descriptions and managing job postings.

Career Paths: develop a structured promotion pathway for each role, including timescales, remuneration, performance requirements and reporting lines.
Human Resource Manual: develop and maintain a simple, clear and structured Human Resources Manual for the organisation aligned to the employment laws of Kenya and UK.
Knowledge Management: assist the future Technology Officer to develop a robust and scalable knowledge management system and ensure that historical knowledge is transmitted and built upon by current staff.
