Ministry of Housing Kenya Job Vacancies

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Kenyans for the following vacancies in the Ministry of Housing:

  1. DriverGrade IIIJob Group ‘D'

    Posts: Twenty (20)
    Advert No: V/No. 1/2009

    Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable

    Salary and other Benefits:

    • Basic salary: Kshs. 8, 819 - 9,721 p.m
    • House allowance: Kshs. 3,300 p.m
    • Leave entitlement: 30 days /year
    • Leave allowance: Kshs. 4,000/per year
    • Medical benefits as applicable in the service

    Requirements for Appointment

    For appointment to the grade of Driver III, a candidate MUST have:

    • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education Mean Grade D plain or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
    • A valid driving Licence free from any current endorsement(s) for Class(es) of vehicle(s) an officer is required to drive;
    • Attended a First Aid Certificate course lasting not less than one (1) week at St. John Ambulance of Kenya Institute of Highways and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized Institution;
    • Passed Suitability Test for Driver Grade III;
    • Passed Practical Test for Drivers conducted by the respective Ministry/ Department;
    • A Valid Certificate of Good-Conduct from the Kenya Police; and
    • At least two (2) years driving licence.

    In addition to the above requirements an officer must have the following competencies:

    • Personal integrity- a strong commitment to openness, honesty, inclusiveness and demonstrate high levels of tolerance;
    • Personal responsibility- the willingness to accept responsibility for own actions; and
    • Respect for National / Gender diversity.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Duties and Responsibilities involve:

    • Driving a Motor vehicle as authorised.
    • Carrying out routine checks on the vehicles cooling, oil, electrical and brake system, tyre pressure, e.t.c.
    • Detecting and reporting malfunctioning of vehicle systems.
    • Maintenance of work tickets for vehicles assigned.
    • Ensuring security and safety for the vehicle on and off the road.
    • Safety of the passengers and/or goods therein; and
    • And maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle.

  2. Clerical Officer IIJob Group 'F'

    Posts: Sixty Eight (68)

    Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable

    Salary and other Benefits

    • Basic salary: Kshs.10, 717 -12,416 p.m.
    • House allowance: Kshs. 3,500 p.m
    • Leave entitlement: 30 days /year
    • Leave allowance: Kshs. 4,000/per year
    • Medical benefits as applicable in the service

    Requirement for Appointment

    For appointment to this grade, a candidate must be in possession of, Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Mean Grade C-, or Kenya Certificate of Education Division III.

    Proficiency in computer applications is an added advantage.

    In addition to the above requirements an officer must have the following competencies:

    • Personal integrity - a strong commitment to openness, honesty, inclusiveness and demonstrate high levels of tolerance;
    • Personal responsibility - the willingness to accept responsibility for own actions; and
    • Respect for National / Gender diversity

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Compiling Statistical records;
    • Sorting out letters and filing them;
    • Dispatching letters and maintaining an efficient filing system;
    • Processing appointments, promotions, discipline cases, transfers and other related duties in Human Resource Management;
    • Preparing payment vouchers;
    • Computation of Financial or Statistical records based on routine or special sources of information;
    • Compiling data and drafting simple letters; VIM.Court duties and process serving.

  3. Artisans IIIJob Group 'E'(Carpentry, Masonry, Welding, Painting, Plumbing).

    Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable

    Salary and other Benefits

    • Basic salary: kshs. 9,721 - 11,254 p.m.
    • House allowance: kshs. 3,500 p.m
    • Leave entitlement: 30 days /year
    • Leave allowance: ksh. 4000/per year
    • Medical benefits as applicable in the service.

    Requirement for Appointment

    For appointment to this grade, a candidate must be in possession of:

    • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Mean Grade D+ or Kenya Certificate of Education Division III, or its equivalent; and ii. Government Trade Test Certificate Grade III of the relevant trade i.e. Carpentry, Masonry, Welding, Painting, and Plumbing.

    In addition to the above requirements an officer must have the following competencies:

    • Personal integrity- a strong commitment to openness, honesty, inclusiveness and demonstrate high levels of tolerance;
    • Personal Qualities -good knowledge in the field of specialisation, ability to communicate.
    • Core Skills- Punctuality, manual dexterity
    • Respect for National / Gender diversity.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    This will be the entry grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will be on job training and will be assigned simple duties in repair and maintenance works under close supervision of a more experienced officer in line with the area of specialization (Carpentry, Masonry, Welding, Painting, and Plumbing).

  4. Process Server IIJob Group 'F'

    Posts: Five (5)
    Advert No: V/No. 4/2009
    Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable

    Salary and other Benefits;

    • Basic salary: Kshs.10, 717 -12,416 p.m.
    • House allowance: Kshs. 3,500 p.m
    • Leave entitlement: 30 days /year
    • Leave allowance: Kshs. 4,000/per year
    • Medical benefits as applicable in the service

    Requirements for Appointment

    For appointment to the grade of Process Server II, a candidate must have:-

    • K.C E Division III with credit in EnglisW/K.C.S.E mean grade D+ with grade C- in English;
    • A Certificate of Process Service from the Chief Justice,
    • Certificate of proficiency in computer operations.

    In addition to the above requirements, an officer must have the following qualities and skills:

    • Personal Qualities -Good knowledge in process server function, ability to communicate; Personal integrity- a strong commitment to openness, honesty, inclusiveness and demonstrate high levels of tolerance;
    • Core Skills-Punctuality, dexterity and be Multi-Skilled; and
    • Respect for National / Gender diversity.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    This will be the entry and training grade into the Process Servers' cadre. An officer at this level will normally work under the supervision and guidance of a more senior officer.

    Duties and responsibilities will involve; entering and filing the processes in various registers; service of documents relating to the tribunal; service of documents from other courts to the Tribunal; preparation of affidavits/returns of service; and management of the process servers' movement register.
