Working With: Ministry Of Health And Ministry Of Water, Alrmp, Contractors, Transporters,

Managing: Field Logistics Officers (Turkana & Wajir)

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 7 MONTHS (50 % In Turkana And 50% In Wajir

Salary: £800 – £1300 dependent on relevant experience, plus comprehensive insurance cover, accommodation, return flights, a per diem to cover daily living expenses, and holiday allowance ($145 per month).

kills And Competence

Essential

  • 1-2 years previous logistics experience and technical training

  • Good experience in: purchasing, warehousing, vehicle management, administration

  • Problem solving ability with equipment ranging from computers, vehicles, generators, and radios

  • Sound knowledge and experience of logistical systems

  • Strong planning and organisational ability

  • Team-building skills.

  • Fluent written and spoken English

  • Excellent communicator

  • 1-2 years experience of supervision of staff.

  • Proven management ability.

  • Diplomacy, tact and negotiating skills.

  • Previous experience in developing countries.
  • Able to work independently

  • Problem solving ability.

  • Good working knowledge of MS Office applications.

  • Ability and flexibility to understand the cultural and political environment and to work well with the local authorities

  • Ability to remain calm and to be diplomatic

  • Able to contribute and live as part of a team and work in remote and isolated areas
