Master Scholarships in Transportation & Electrical Power Systems

The Erasmus Mundus Master Course in Sustainable Transportation and Electrical Power Systems (EMMC STEPS) offers a highly specialized education in Electrical Engineering, focusing on two areas of the highest technological content and professional requirements in the energy sector.

Graduates successfully completing the EMMC STEPS academic programme will be awarded with a Joint Master Degree in Sustainable Transportation and Electrical Power Systems (STEPS) by a Consortium of universities, fully recognized in four partner countries.

The course is structured in 2 academic years, with four 30 ECTS semesters for a total 120 ECTS workload. Students can build their own curriculum based on their previous background and their professional interest, although it offers 2 recommended study tracks: Sustainable Transportation (ST) and Electrical Power Systems (EPS). The approach and content of the Master respond to main challenges faced by the energy sector:

  • To master new energy sources and their implications to the power systems
  • To reduce CO2 emissions by increasing energy efficiency and the share of clean energies
  • To gradually incorporate electrical transportation as an alternative to vehicles using combustion engines.

The application process for the EMMC STEPS consists of 2 steps:

    1. First, applicants will have to fill out and electronically submit the application form within deadline via the Application System on the dedicated EMMC STEPS website.

    2. Afterwards, the selected candidates will have to send in hard copies all required attachments by post, post stamped before the assigned deadline.

    Scholarships/Grants

The EMMC STEPS will select some students to be awarded with individual Erasmus Mundus scholarships. The scholarships are conceived as "full scholarships" covering all necessary costs of the student during his/her study period in Europe.

The concession of the grant will be subjected to the following some limitations:

  • Have already obtained a first higher education degree.
  • Exclusively full-time enrolment in one of the course editions.
  • Not be awarded with other EU grants for the same joint course over the length of the course concerned.
  • No more than two of the students with the same nationality.
