Marine Scholarship Program

This scholarship is for mid-career professionals from coastal developing countries to pursue a Master's degree in specific marine-related programs.

The three universities that participate in the Program are Dalhousie University, Université du Québec à Rimouski (UQAR) (a French-speaking program), and World Maritime University in Malmö, Sweden.

To be eligible, one has to:

  • be currently working in a marine- or ocean-related sector and

  • be a citizen of a coastal country eligible for Canadian Official Development Assistance.

  • be nominated and supported by the organization, institution, or ministry by which they are employed.

  • ensure the proposed area of study corresponds with their work.

  • make applications directly to the individual universities. obtain the application forms directly from the universities or at a Canadian Embassy or High Commission.

    CIDA awards these scholarships based on academic standing and whether an applicant meets the Program's objectives and priorities.
