MSc in Development Studies Scholarships - W Charitable Foundation Scholarships

The W Charitable Foundation has provided School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS)University of London with scholarships for African students undertaking the full-time MSc Development Studies programme.

Three awards are available to cover the cost of fees (£11,460) as well as living costs (£12,000) for a total scholarship of £23,460 each.

Scholarship Criteria:

  • Applicants must be domiciled (or permanent residents) in an African country.

  • Eligible Programmes: MSc Development Studies (Full-time programme only)

  • Priority will be given to scholarship applicants whocan demonstrate financial need.

    Essay
    Only 60% of the African continent has sanitation coverage. One of the Millennium Development Goals is to reduce by half the proportion of people without sustainable access to safe drinking water and of those without access to sanitation.

    Please write an essay to describe why your intended research is relevant to the issue of Water in Africa.

    Please enclose four copies of your essay with your application. Essays must be no longer than two, one-sided A4 pages.

    Deadline: 1 July 2008.
