Mental Health Studies Programme

For practitioners and graduates interested in enhancing their knowledge of mental health care for people who have a learning disability.

Students take modules in basic mental health and research methods, and two modules in the mental health care for people with learning disabilities.

Mental Health in Learning Disabilities Module I:

  • Aetiology of mental health needs in people with learning disabilities
  • Psychopathology and assessment of mental health
  • Treatment interventions, care and management

    Mental Health in Learning Disabilities Module II:

  • Forensic issues in learning disabilities
  • Neuro-developmental disability
  • Pervasive developmental disorders

    Entry Requirements:

  • A first degree and/or professional qualification
  • Relevant experience

    Closing date for applications: 29 June
