Responsible To: Project Coordinator With Technical Line Management From The Regional Logistics Coordinator Nairobi

Working With: Health, Logistics And Finance/Admin Teams

Directly Managing: Logistics Assistant, Drivers (Boat And Vehicle), And Construction Staff

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 6 Months

Salary: £800 - £1300 Depending on qualification and experience, plus comprehensive insurance cover, accommodation, return flights, a per diem to cover daily living expenses, and holiday allowance ($145 per month).

Professional/Personal Requirements

Essential

  • 1-2 years previous logistics experience and technical training

  • At least two years experience of site supervision

  • Problem solving ability with equipment ranging from computers, vehicles, generators, and radios

  • Sound knowledge and experience of logistical systems

  • Good management and personnel skills

  • Strong planning and organisational ability

  • Fluent written and spoken English

  • Ability and flexibility to understand the cultural and political environment and to work well with the local authorities

  • Ability to remain calm and to be diplomatic

  • Able to contribute and live as part of a team and work in remote and isolated areas

  • Experience working in Sudan an advantage
    Desirable

  • Previous experience in South Sudan an advantage

  • Qualification in engineering/construction an advantage

  • Fluent Arabic or Dinka a strong advantage
