Supports existing economic assistance and income generation
activities throughout Sudan by providing capacity building to staff, oversight of program implementation quality, timeliness and expenditure in collaboration with the Country and Deputy Country Director.
Develops and implements strategy for the livelihoods and economic assistance sector, including CBO capacity development and monitoring of sub grant implementation
Designs and monitors implementation of programs related to
establishing sustainable cooperatives and savings groups,
facilitating market linkages, and strengthening community structures
Works with national NGOs – implementing partners on strategic planning, business trainings and other capacity areas if required
Reports regularly to the Country Director on progress including contributing to the writing of quarterly and final reports
Develops marketing and outreach strategies including undertaking assessments and proposal development
Participates in the recruitment, training and management of staff, including development of staff training manuals
Maintains collaborations with donors, local government, and key community leaders
Able to read and interpret documents, and communicate with others as necessary to perform job duties effectively. English fluency required; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage
Candidates should have significant work experience in Africa
Candidates must be willing and able to live and work in an unstable post-conflict environment.
