Senior Data Manager

In addition to providing data management support related to the Health and Demographic Surveillance (HDSS) database, the position holder will be overall data manager and systems analyst for the Cluster; to take primary responsibility for data management on assigned projects and to supervise the data management team so as to ensure effective provide data management support is provided to the Cluster.

Skills and Qualification:

  • A Masters Degree in Data/Information Management, System Analysis or equivalent
  • At least three years experience in a similar position in a research or health institution Demonstrated competence in health information management and statistical analysis with
  • Excellent skills in systems analysis, data management, database design and structures
  • Excellent computing skills, including statistical packages (STATA) and MS-Office
  • Business analysis and basic SQL skills
  • Exposure/ experience to GIS analysis
  • Ability to handle large databases and troubleshoot issues involving complex data integration.

    Research Officer - Analysis of Human Resources for Health Data

    The job holder will develop work analysing the Kenyan Human Resources informatics System data.

    The post will require someone with data handling skills and statistical or epidemiological training and ideally, analysis experience who has an interest in human resources for health work.

    Skills and Qualification:

  • Degree in health related subject (eg. BSN) or epidemiology / statistics / surveying / geography
  • MPH or MSc in Epidemiology / Statistics / Informatics or geography
  • Good computer skills in basic office programmes
  • Good report writing skills
  • Good presentation skills (use of powerpoint or other media) and communication skills
  • Understanding of health system and interest in HRH
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and to supervise staff in field work
