Jobs at Higher Education Loans Board

Location: Kenya.

Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) is a state corporation whose mandate is to source funds and provides loans, scholarships and bursaries to Kenyans studying in recognized institutions to higher learning.

1. Assistant Manager – Alternative Loans

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • A degree in any of the fields: Finance, Economics, Social science, Education, Business Administration, Statistics, Law.
  • Possession of professional qualifications in Credit management or related field.
  • Over 5 years experience in credit management and debt collection.
  • Proven IT proficiency.
  • Good report presentation skill.
  • Ability to define problems collect data, establish facts and interpret extensive variety of data.
  • Strong counseling and problem solving skills.

    2. Assistant Manager, Recovery – Undergraduate Loans

    Desired Qualifications:

  • A degree in any of the fields: Finance, Economics, Social science, Education, Business Administration, Statistics, Law.
  • Possession of professional qualifications in Credit management or related field.
  • Over 5 years experience in credit management and debt collection.
  • Proven IT proficiency.
  • Good report presentation skill.
  • Drive the undergraduate loan management programme including formulating and recovery policies.
  • Ability to network with key strategic partners.
  • Good leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong counseling and problem solving skills.

    3. Assistant Manager – Allocation

    The board prefers individuals who possess the following:

  • A degree in any of the fields: Finance, Economics, Social science, Education, Business Administration, Statistics, Law.
  • Possession of professional qualifications in Credit management or related field.
  • Over 5 years experience in credit management.
  • Proven IT proficiency.
  • Good report presentation skill.
  • Excellent interpersonal and people’s skills.
  • Strong counseling and problem solving skills.
