HIV Technical Coordinator

Location: Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Merlin International specializes in health, saving lives in times of crisis and helping to rebuild shattered health services.

Each year, Merlin helps more than 15 million people in up to 20 countries.

The HIV Technical coordinator is a senior position monitoring and supporting the implementation of all Merlin HIV/AIDS control programmes in DR Congo in conjunction with project coordinators.

Qualifications, experience and competencies

  • Qualified doctor or nurse with extensive post qualification experience.

  • Qualification in tropical medicine, public health, HIV/AIDS or equivalent.

  • Significant previous overseas experience in the management of HIV/AIDS programmes in similar contexts.

  • Familiarity with Global Fund HIV programmes.

  • Experience of communicating and representation with a range of people, organizations and cultures.

  • Experience in epidemiological analysis.

  • Strong communication skills, with fluent French written and spoken and good spoken and written English.

  • Ability to travel to all field sites and to offer close supervisory support to national Merlin medical staff and BCZS counterparts.

  • Confident and proficient in the use of MS Office - ability to use data analysis software including Excel, Epi Info and SPSS.
